Holidays Part 2: Cousins come to Visit

After Christmas, Grama and Grampa Bryant came for a visit.  They brought along Carter, Abigail and Teagen. We filled our days with skating, tobogganing, and play.  Grampa Bryant had to come back to Calgary the next week so they left Abby and Carter for the next week.  The kids had so much fun.  We went skating at the pond on New Years Eve, tobogganing at Eagle Terrace and at Spray Lakes. Ryan and Cheryl hosted an ugly sweater party on New Years Eve and it was a fun night of games, ping pong and some hideous outfits!

This is one of the Crazy games we played.  Trying to pick up the cardboard with your teeth with no hands and one foot on the ground.  As the game goes on the cardboard keeps getting shorter.

Kids all dressed up New Years Day!

Holidays Part 1

It has been a busy few weeks with concerts, parties and family visits!  I will break the holiday up into two posts: up to Christmas and after Christmas:)
Logan's Christmas concert was held at the Banff Springs Hotel.  The kids were met with cookies to decorate and a hot chocolate bar.  We then had time to wonder the halls and check out the beautiful decorations before returning to the ballroom for the kids to to sing and visit Santa.  Auntie Kelsey was visiting so she got to come and watch too!  That afternoon was Autumns party and visit from Santa.  She was not too impressed with him:) After Heidi was done school on Friday we went out to Fairmont where mom and dad and my sisters were.  Aaron hooked up with Ryan Tarves for a day of ice climbing Saturday and the rest of us did puzzles, swam and played racquetball followed by a large Turkey Dinner.  Sunday night we had a unique potluck Chinese supper followed by a Chinese gift xchange.  Some very interesting costumes!!  Mom came home with us Monday while Dad was snowmobiling...we got in some boxing day shopping downtown.  The weather has been beautiful so we have spent our days tobogganing(on frozen grass because there is no snow) and skating.  We went skiing to Sunshine on Wednesday with Auntie Kelsey! Here are the pictures:

Finally!

So here goes...my first attempt at writing a blog.  I have had intentions of doing this since we moved the Canmore in July but never got past the start page!  I hope that this will help to keep family updated on what we are doing here in the mountains.  It is just about Christmas and what a crazy week to start this but oh well...crazy is good right:)  Logan has his Christmas concert on Thursday with the other two kindergarten classes at the Banff Springs Hotel.  It is a formal affair and should be very cute! Autumn's preschool concert is also Thursday but in the afternoon so it will be a very Christmassy day.  Heidi's class does not do a concert until spring (only Grade 3/4 does Christmas, 1/2 do spring), her class party is on Friday morning and then two weeks off!!  We aren't venturing too far for the holidays.  We have enough to do on the new house to keep us busy.  I am trying to think of paint colors and flooring ideas now and finalize the cabinets.  Aaron is there everyday trying to stay ahead of the framers with little jobs such as strapping the interior and exterior and making constant decisions.  Our windows were put in this past week with one big oops!  The 4 large rake windows up top on the prow were all about 6 inches too big!!  Thank goodness it isn't our problem but it does mean that those windows wont be in until the end of January
Gingerbread House under construction...it is supposed to resemble our house.

Autumn enjoying pizza at the Skate with Santa on the Pond. Crazy amount of people came out for the fun!
